ROBOTIC DEVICES
|
Application: Telepresence of Robot Vision / Control
Task: Use a PDA to remotely view a mobile robots onboard camera vision and control its movement.
Solution: A TrackerCam provides streaming WiFi video thru an onboard computer with automatic zoom on moving objects. An HP iPAQ provides remote viewing and contol via WiFi and Bluetooth links. The user can pan and tilt the camera using the PDA contol buttons and drive the robot by clicking a series of waypoints on the image and then pressing the go button. As the robot moves, the progress bar displays the robot's progress.
Why AcroTek? Standard parts and software; real-time mobile robot expertise.

Application: Inertial Navigation of Mobile Robots
Task: Use solid state gyros to detect movement and an onboard computer to navigate a mobile robot.
Solution: 3 Micro Piezo Gyros (one for each azis of motion) feed three axis of rotational motion to a minni P4 PC which integrates the gyro ouputs to compute it path from a starting position. Results used to drive the robot over a prescribed path.
Why AcroTek? Standard rugged parts; proven software; extensive experience.

Application: Industrial and Medical Robotic Arm
Task: Industrial - assembly, dispensing, drilling, loading, packing, painting, surgery, welding; compact / rugged design.
Solution: Integrated 6-Axis (and 5-axis) articulated robotic arms, 4-axis SCARA robot arms and 1, 2, 3 and 4-axis linear cartesian robots. Common applications listed above.
Why AcroTek? Standard CPU boards and I/O cards; solution optimized; upgrade path; custom design; long-term availability. |
Application: Wall Climbing Robotic Device
Task: Wall climbing robot capable of simple surface locomotion. Turning capabilities and some payload capacity are required to make the robot useful.
Solution: The robot will use dry adhesion to stick to walls and ceilings as it climbs. The design uses simple rotary actuators for a singly degree of freedom motion, but includes passive joints and elastic flexures to allow this motion to provide the preload and peeling forces necessary to climb using dry adhesion. A PIC will be used to control the motion of the robot and onboard power will make the system fully autonomous.
Why AcroTek? Open standards solution; diversified applications; upgrade path; custom design; long-term availability; RT operating system expertise. |
Application: Gantry Robotics
Task: Small-sized, highly integrated motion control unit, with integrated CAN interface and industrial I/O expandability; real-time operating system support.
Solution:Gantry robotic palletizing system to build mixed layer pallets.Utilizes pallet carousels equipped to store and move heavy-duty pallets. Custom-designed board, based on MC68332 CPU; I/O expandability through standardized CXC interface; serial and CAN interface integrated; specially developed Board Support Package for RTOS support.
Why AcroTek? Solution based on open standards; custom design; long-term availability; RT operating system expertise.
